What our immersion students and teacher trainees have to say about Balanced Yoga Enrichment & Professional Teacher Training Program
“Teacher training at Balanced Yoga not only deepened my yoga practice and set me on the path to becoming a great teacher - it also deeply affected the way I see myself and the world. This experience is life-changing and totally worth it.”
-Mary Beaton
“This program has changed my life. I am always looking for ways to better my journey in this lifetime and this has been one of the most moving, enlightening and beneficial so far. Even if I never teach a single class after I finish, the money spent was well spent!”
-Sheila Dowden
“My experience in BYU Teacher Training so far has been amazing! Just 3 months in, I’ve learned so much. It truly is a 360-degree yoga education, covering everything from yoga history to philosophy, and anatomy to asana. The instructors are so knowledgeable - each comes with a unique yoga background. I feel fortunate to be able to learn from the best!”
-Nickie Fetzer
I’ve been practicing yoga and taking classes from Balanced Yoga for 3 years now. I took the Immersion because I wish to deepen my practice and explore the possibility of becoming an instructor so I can share my enthusiasm with beginners. I also welcome all opportunities to study and practice with Donna Winters. I thoroughly enjoyed the Teacher Training Immersion with Donna. Donna’s instruction comes from such a strong, studied foundation of ancient and modern tradition with her unique style: a blend of asana, philosophy and science. For those reasons, I’m very excited to move into the 200 Hour Professional Teacher Training Program!

Working with Donna was amazing. I learned so much in the Immersion. I was impressed with the way she integrated many subjects and facets of yoga into her teaching. I left feeling excited and ready for the next step. After my experience in the Immersion, I am definitely moving into teacher training.

The curriculum allows for self-discovery that leads to recognition of strengths and weaknesses; this awareness is necessary for me to become a proficient instructor and has given me confidence and motivation to continue my journey with yoga... The program has redefined my view of yoga and all the gifts it has to offer. These gifts extend well beyond my mat. I am more connected to myself, my environment, and my community of friends and family. I am also experimenting with how to integrate certain principles, such as taking action under the most difficult of circumstances and non-attachment. I came to yoga for a sweaty, challenging workout; I continue with yoga because it helps me remember what is important.

Yoga Teacher Training brought me just what I needed – a new direction after retirement. Besides the wonderful relationships that developed among fellow students, it taught me to become more grounded and gave me an inner-awareness that I am sure I did not have before. I hope to carry this with me forever... It was an incredible experience for me that exceeded my expectations and has forever changed the way I practice yoga. From philosophy, anatomy, and proper alignment of the body in asanas to meditation, and teaching methodology, I truly feel that I am well equipped and eager to share what I have learned with others.
- Mary Ann Frye
I originally took the teacher training, just so I could deepen my own practice. However, Donna's expertise has given me the desire to put a lot of what I learned into action. My hope is to teach a few classes in the future, and continue learning more of what Yoga has to teach all of us.
